Set-up
Four steps on Fire TV
Free up space
Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications. Remove anything you don't use.
Install the player
Search the Fire TV app store for the player we recommended. If it isn't listed in the UK store, we'll suggest one that is.
Sign in
Enter your login details. The Fire TV remote keyboard is slow, so take your time with capitals.
Favourite and go
Add your most-watched channels to favourites so they're one click from the home screen.

Habits that stop a Fire Stick slowing down
Do
- Restart weekly: hold Select + Play for five seconds
- Use the HDMI extender that came in the box for better Wi-Fi
- Power it from the mains adapter, not the TV's USB port
- Clear the player's cache if menus get sluggish
Don't
- Fill the stick with games and apps you never open
- Hide it behind a metal TV bracket, which blocks Wi-Fi
- Install "cleaner" or "booster" apps; they rarely help
Watch a lot of live sport? An official Ethernet adapter for Fire TV plugs into the power cable and gives the stick a wired connection. It's the best upgrade for a few pounds.

My Fire Stick says storage is full. What do I remove?
Start with games and apps you haven't opened in a month, then clear the cache of large apps. Aim for at least 1 GB free.
Why does the picture freeze but the sound carries on?
Usually Wi-Fi strength. Use the HDMI extender, move to 5 GHz, or add an Ethernet adapter.
Can I use one plan on two Fire Sticks?
You can sign in on another device in your household. If you want to watch on both at the same time, ask us before ordering.
